Roderick’s background is deeply rooted in technical production and event management.  From the mid 1980’s he has worked as a Production and Technical Manager for a wide variety of productions in many formats and on many continents.  He has delivered everything from very small dance productions in very small theatres to very large scale corporate productions and multi-stage music festivals.

With a long history in design and experience in transforming ideas, interpreting concepts and turning them into working realities is one of his strong assets.  Being able to clearly set-out schedules and targets and communicate them to all stakeholders is crucial in the efficient delivery of a project.

In 1998 he accepted the position as Technical Manager and Consultant for Playbill Venue Management, managers of the Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industry.  His core responsibilities included looking after high-profile events during the renovation of both venues and involved a high level of consultation with the construction company  to ensure the venues remained functional.  Upon the completion of the renovations he was offered the position of Technical Manager for Playbill Venue Management, and briefly Fox Studios Australia.  In that position he supervised a team to deliver a wide range of concerts, corporate functions, trade exhibitions, dance parties and theatrical performances.  All were delivered on time, on budget and often exceeding expectations of guests and promotors.

After a hiatus of several years where he concentrated on risk and safety management, Roderick has recently started accepting contracts as technical / production manager again.
Mainly looking after smaller productions with no budget for additional challenge levels, productions included ‘Flamenco Now’ at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta; the Arts Health Institute conference at NIDA, Sydney; de Quincy Company ‘Metadata’ at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta; ‘Three Voices’ Morton Feldman, Sydney Fringe Festival 2017; ‘Vertical Fields’, Elia Boshardt, LotW Studio, Leichhardt.

Currently in preparation for the Sydney International Piano Competition 2020 to be held in the Verbrueghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium and Centennial Hall, Sydney Town Hall.
